Chris Workman is the head instructor at this self-defense center. Chris has been studying martial-arts for over twenty years, and is now considered to be a Master Instructor, level SIFU. He has three other instructors with him who have all passed a demanding 2-year training course - to insure that you are taught by the very, very best.

After the introductory start-up special, be assured there is no contract to sign if you wish to continue with your studies. Chris feels this is very important and said, “A person should be able to pay month to month. Being forced to sign a contract, like some self defense centers require, is a sign that students want to leave after a short time. Contracts are to force you, or at least your money, to stay at the school. Here, we care so much about the students we teach that we teach in a manner that is comfortable so people want to stay and learn. We don’t need to try and force them to stay with a contract”.

He went on to explain, “Shaolin Kung Fu is focused on self defense, whereas Chen Family Tai Chi is focused on health. Our mission here is simple, with younger students our focus is to help instill integrity, self confidence, self discipline, self esteem and to show them how goals, any goals, are attainable with dedication. With older students we simply insure that they will reach the goals they set for themselves.”

Check with the center as every few months Chris runs a mini-course just for women on simple self defense techniques. You will find the studio to be very open, airy and lined with full length mirrors to help you perfect your skills. All classes are small enough to ensure that everyone receives personal attention. Group and private classes are also available.
