This “Darn Good Deal” business has thus been the most challenging we have had to research. Mr. & Mrs. Syed approached us saying they had a darn good deal because they paid a higher price for gold and they were honest. We really did not see how we could confirm either but, they were determined. In the end the research team came up with an idea and to gather a big bag of assorted jewelry and take it in to several places and see what prices would be given. So that’s what we did, and it was quite a learning experience!

Let me start with Turn It To Cash; they told us they could pay us $446.92 and tested each piece right in front of us. Next stop, jewelry was not tested they only looked at and offered $298.00. This next one was outrageous, $115.00, when he saw I really was not going to take his offer and I was leaving, he offered me $235.00, saying he had made a mistake again not tested only looked at. Another place $404.00 they did a lot of testing but what I did not like is they took the jewelry away now I hope they are always honest but with that much jewelry as I had, if a piece were not returned I would not have noticed. The last place again only a couple of pieces tested $386.00. So as you can see “Turn It To Cash” did indeed have a Darn Good Deal.

Ehsan & his wife Zeenat had retired from the jewelry business after thirty years. They discovered that they missed being with people and they were bored. So they opened up this business, making sure to keep their overhead very, very low. As Ehsan says, “we don’t need to make a lot of money anymore and with such low overhead; we can give top-dollar when we buy.

I watched them interact with a few customers and each and every one was offered something to drink. One couple’s young child was board and fidgety so Zeenat brought him a little snack, which settled him right down. These are just nice people.
