Since grooming prices vary by dog size, we picked my own little Chihuahua to research because I'm always looking for more darn good deals, too.

Groomin Tyme has been in business for the past 4 years, but Grace, the owner has 18 years of experience while her associate, Joanna, brings 10 years of experience to the business. Which is why Groomin Tyme was rated the #1 grooming salon in “Sonora Tails” magazine’s Readers Pick for 2007 and runner up in 2008. Groomin Tyme is also a member of the Arizona Professional Pet Groomers Association.

When Grace was asked why she started her own business she replied, “I wanted something of my own. A place to give pets the service I felt they deserved. Pets should love to go to the groomers. They should have fun. Enjoy themselves and then go back home, happy, clean and looking great!”

Grace and Joanna really love their work. Who can blame them, they get to work furry friends all day long. The shop is very family friendly and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed so your pet will not feel stressed or abandoned. As Grace said, a trip to the groomers should be something your pet enjoys, and they work hard to make sure of that.

She went on to explain that they do not use kennels or cages. They wash and dry every pet by hand. They care for the senior dog, the first time puppy, all dogs large and small, with equal dedication. Of course, they groom cats and kittens, too. They also groom a number of pets that may not be suitable for other grooming shops - Joanna even grooms ferrets.

Their experienced pet bather is a retired vet technician and they will alert you to any lumps, bumps or parasites your pet may have. Groomin Tyme uses custom shampoos and conditioners by Nature Specialties. They can also refer you to a great personal trainer for any behavioral issues you may be having with your pet.

Nail trims can be by appointment or walk-ins. Other grooming services are by appointment. Their hours are Tuesday thru Saturday from 7:30 a.m. till the last pet goes home. Oh…be sure to ask about their Platinum Paws Card their free grooming rewards program!
